A somber day

Today my father-in-law and I spent a somber day at Terezin, north of Prague. Terezin is truly historic, having been built over two centuries ago in the form of two fortresses. We know it best as a part of the Holocaust. Sights devoted to the victims are spread all over the town, and the sufferings of the inmates are memorialized through museum exhibits, monuments, and cemeteries.

We then returned to Prague to visit the Nove Mesto-the New Town, the business heart of the city. We peeked into the Opera House. Tomorrow we will return to New Town to the National Museum-which is a Natural History Museum. Judging from the building on the outside it is old and enormous. We will then visit the Charles University.
