I am in Prague. Over the past two days my father-in-law and I crossed the Charles Bridge, visited the Hradcany-Castle Hill, climbed to the top of St. Vitus Cathedral, visited the Josefov-the Jewish section of the city, and the Stare Mesto-the Old Town. The Jewish section contained the sprawling Jewish Museum, which covers 7 synagogues and the wondrous Jewish cemetary-the oldest head stone of which dates back to the Middle Ages.
One of the synagogues, the Pinkus synagogue, is actually a very moving memorial to the Czech Jews who parished in the Holocaust. I will have more to say about everything that I have experienced when I get home and have more time to reflect and study.
Tomorrow we are visiting Terezin-the Nazi concentration camp. I will post a somber note tomorrow.
From Praha,
